      Requirements

Folder Catalogue requires Windows 3.1 (16 bit version) or Windows 95 
(16 and 32 bit versions).

If the dynamic link libraries and controls are not already loaded on
the target system approximately 2.71MB will be added to the System
folder and 318kB to the folder in which Folder Catalogue is stored for
Windows 95. The corresponding storage requirements for Windows 3.1 (or
3.11) are 1.65MB and 317kB respectively.

      Installation

Installation for the 32 bit version is by a setup program. 

Installation for the 16 bit version is by copying files to the
appropriate directories.

     16 bit version for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95

The zip file fldcat16.zip contains the following files:

Create a directory, say FOLDCAT, and unzip Fldcat16.zip into it.

Move the following files to the \Windows\System\ directory being
careful not to overwrite files of the same name which are more recent
than these ones.

Create an icon or program group in Program Manager using the File/New 
command in Windows 3.1. Or make a shortcut in Windows 95 and add it 
to the Start Menu.



     32 bit version for Windows 95

Downloaded copy: unzip the file into a suitable directory then run 
setup.exe from either Add/Remove software from Control Panel and browsing 
to the folder in which the file was unzipped, entering 
{drive}:\{folder}\setup.exe in Start/Run command where {drive} is the 
drive on which the file was unzipped and {folder} was the folder into 
which it was unzipped, or browsing to the folder in which the file was 
unzipped, or selecting the folder in which the folder was unzipped in 
Explorer and double clicking setup.exe.

Disk Copy: Place disk in a floppy drive and then run setup.exe from 
either Add/Remove software from Control Panel and browsing to the floppy 
disk drive in which the disk was placed, entering {floppy}:\setup.exe 
in Start/Run command where {floppy} is the floppy disk drive in which 
the disk was placed, or browsing to the drive in whihc the disk was 
placed, or selecting the floppy disk drive in Explorer and double 
clicking setup.exe.

       Launching For the first time

Folder Catalogue will display a registration dialog when it starts.

Enter your name in the registration dialog box and leave zero in the 
license number box.

This dialog will show every time the application is launched until a 
valid license number is entered.
